1.         The Chairman welcomed all in attendance and congradulated Bert Campbell for his sterling efforts as the Coordinator of the 415 Squadron Association Website.  He noted that the Website was the key element in the strategy to achieve the Association’s Mission.  He reiterated that there was one short-term goal for the Assoc – to double membership prior to Apr 07.  All Association members are requested to use what ever means are possible to notify former Swordfish of the existence of this Association.  He reminded all members that the Association’s long-term mandate is outlined in the Constitution.

* He expressed his thanks to former serving Committee members Serge Parisien, Jeff Stover and Tyler Thorbergson.  He welcomed Chris Larsen as the new Alumni/Membership Coordinator and Jr. McKinnon as the new Association Secretary.

2.         Website.  Continue update of the Association’s Website as per discussion.  Post Association Meeting Minutes/ROD and annual Financial Updates.

3.         Alumni List. Ensure updated list is provided to Website Coordinator and that in the future quarterly updates are conducted.

4.         Alumni/Membership Coordination.  As a standard procedure the Membership Coordinator will Check the Assoc Mail Box once per month.  Ensure all new membership applications are actioned, forward cheques to the Treasurer and forward notification to the Chairperson and Website Coordinator of all new members.

5.          Welcome Letters.  Ensure that all new Assoc Members receive a welcome letter.

6.           Marketing/Fundraising.  A Kit Shop will be established on the Assoc Website by the end Sep 06.  An complete inventory list is to be tabled at the next Assoc Meeting.

7.           Financial Update.  An update which includes a summary of donations received to date is to be provided to the Website Coordinator by end Sep 06.

8.          Memorial Update.  There is a need to enhance the Memorial folder on the Website.  Former COs are requested to provide articles and associated photos on various memorial activities, sites or Squadron artifacts in which they were personally connected or engaged.  Chairman will solicit input.

9.           Association Crest.  There was agreement that an Association Crest should be developed.  Proposals are to be tabled at the next Assoc Meeting.  Chris Larsen volunteered to provide a few proposals prior to the next meeting.

10.         415 Artefacts on Loan to 405.  A complete list of 415 Sqn artifacts held within 405 Sqn spaces is to be provided to the Association at the earliest possible opportunity.

11.         Artefacts List.  Complete list of all artifacts and there location are to be provided to the Association Secretary by end Oct 06.

12.         Museum Display.   It was agreed that a short Squadron history was needed for the Museum display, outlining where and when the Squadron flew various aircraft.  Museum LO agreed to contact the museum as well as to liaise with Gen Patrick regarding the updating of the 415 display.

13.          Squadron History.  A new CD will be produced which will include the complete collection of the written Squadron History (Book + first update + Sqn Closure update).  Once produced the CD will be posted on the Kit Shop page of the Website.

14.          List of Former COs, HCols and Sqn CWOs.  Information to be forwarded to Web Coord for inclusion prior to next Assoc meeting.

ADJOURNMENT

14.           The Chairman asked the Committee members to make a concerted effort to contact former Swordfish and solicit their participation.  Being that there was no further business, the third meeting of the 415 Squadron Association SA was adjourned.

15.            The scheduling of the next SA meeting is to be determined with initial estimate of  end Feb 07 at 14 Wing.
